Arowana Care

What size tank does an Arowana need?

Arowanas grow large – up to 36 inches for some species. A minimum tank size of 250 gallons is recommended for adult Asian Arowanas. Silver Arowanas need at least 300 gallons. Always provide a long tank (at least 8 feet) for swimming room.

What do Arowanas eat?

In captivity, Arowanas thrive on a varied diet including high-quality pellets, live or frozen foods (shrimp, crickets, mealworms, small fish), and occasional treats like krill or chopped squid.

Generally, Arowanas are territorial and may fight. We recommend one Arowana per tank unless you have a proven pair and plenty of space.

Stingray Care

What size tank for freshwater stingrays?

For most species (e.g., Motoro, Pearl), a minimum of 180 gallons is recommended, with dimensions of at least 6' x 2.5' x 2'. Larger species like Black Diamonds may need 300+ gallons.

What do stingrays eat?

Stingrays are carnivores. Offer earthworms, blackworms, bloodworms, shrimp, mussels, clams, and high-quality sinking pellets.

Yes, many hobbyists successfully keep Arowanas and stingrays together. They occupy different zones, so they don't compete for space.
