Appearance

Tank Requirements

A minimum tank size of 250 gallons is recommended for adults. The tank should be covered securely, as Arowanas are known jumpers. Provide strong filtration and perform regular water changes to maintain pristine water conditions. Slightly acidic to neutral pH (6.5-7.5) and temperatures of 78-84°F are ideal.

Diet

To enhance color, offer a varied diet including: high-quality color-enhancing pellets, live or frozen shrimp, crickets, mealworms, small fish, and supplement with natural carotenoids like spirulina or krill.

Compatibility

Purple Base Super Reds can be kept with other large, peaceful species such as stingrays, large catfish, and cichlids. Avoid housing with aggressive fish or smaller species that may be eaten. Only one Arowana per tank is recommended unless you have a proven pair and ample space.
