About the Blue Base Super Red Arowana

The Blue Base Super Red is one of the most stunning color variants of the Asian Arowana. It features a brilliant blue base color on its scales, often with a metallic sheen, combined with deep red fins and body. The contrast between the cool blue and warm red is breathtaking, making it a centerpiece in any aquarium.

Appearance

Juveniles may display a silvery-blue base that intensifies with age. Mature specimens exhibit vivid blue scales with red rims, and the fins are a rich, blood red. The intensity of both colors depends on genetics, diet, and water quality. High-quality specimens have uniform blue coverage and deep, even red.

Size & Growth

Blue Base Super Reds reach 24-28 inches as adults. Growth is steady with proper nutrition and tank conditions. Our fish are captive-bred and accustomed to aquarium life.

Tank Requirements

Provide a minimum 250-gallon tank with a secure lid. Strong filtration and regular water changes are essential. Water parameters: temperature 78-84°F, pH 6.5-7.5, soft to moderately hard water.

Diet

For optimal color, feed a varied diet: high-quality color-enhancing pellets, live or frozen shrimp, crickets, small fish, mealworms, and supplement with natural color enhancers like krill or spirulina.

Compatibility

Blue Base Super Reds can coexist with stingrays, large catfish, and peaceful cichlids. Avoid housing with aggressive fish or smaller species. Only one Arowana per tank unless you have a mated pair and a very large setup.
